The launch of the SUMMA exhibition, highlighting the already impressive accomplishments of McMaster’s Studio Art students and faculty, seems a perfect time to announce the proposed introduction of a new Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA): Studio Art degree at McMaster.
The McMaster School of the Arts (SOTA) anticipates that the program will start this September, pending approval by Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
A substantial number of new and exciting courses are being offered. Some upper year courses of note include:
TOUCH STONE: MODELS FOR STUDIO RESEARCH
INTEGRATED DIMENSIONAL MEDIA CONCENTRATION
FIELD WORK: ON- SITE EXPLORATIONS
20TH CENTURY AND CONTEMPORARY ART PRACTICES: HOW ARTISTS THINK, ACT AND ENGAGE (taught by the Museum Curatorial team)
HISTORY AND DISCOURSE OF THE MUSEUM
(taught by the Museum Curatorial team)
PRINT RESIDENCY (including an intensive two-week stay at L’ Atelier de l’Ile, Quebec)
Congratulations to McMaster School of the Arts for this initiative.
